Coby got to his feet and inclined his head at Skylar.
Taking the main seat, Skylar inquired, “Is something the matter that you came all the way from Marsingfill to the Norton residence, Mr. Coby?”
Coby eyed the man, aware that the latter knew the reason for his visit all too well.
Nonetheless, he didn’t bother hiding anything since Skylar had asked as much, admitting, “Mr. Norton, Jared destroyed Pentacarna Tower and fled here from Xenhall. I’ve been pursuing him all the way. Alas, I lost track of him recently. Now, he has made an appearance and even killed Quintus Zabel of Malison Sect. I’m sure you know that as well. I know you also hate him, Mr. Norton. Therefore, I’d like to join forces with you to eliminate him together!”
Upon hearing that, Skylar frowned deeply. “Destroyed Pentacarna Tower? It’s an ancient artifact, so it’s impossible for him to do so no matter how capable he is.”
He had once heard about the origin of Pentacarna Tower from the butler of the Gardner family.
How could such a magical item be destroyed? Jared probably doesn’t have such capability.
“Are you doubting me, Mr. Norton?” Coby was stunned for a moment before he elaborated, “It’s true that Pentacarna Tower has collapsed. It’s now a pile of rubble!”
Skylar knew that the man couldn’t possibly lie to him, but he didn’t quite believe that Pentacarna Tower had really been wrecked just like that.
After mulling it over for a while, he declared, “I know! In that case, Jared must have taken the item that acted as the core essence of Pentacarna Tower that it suddenly crumbled!”
Since Pentacarna Tower is exceedingly powerful, there must have been some magical item in it. And Jared must have taken that item, so Pentacarna Tower collapsed.
At once, Coby’s eyes lit up. “Oh? What magical item?”
In response, Skylar shook his head. “How would I know? But I’m sure he must have obtained a magical item from Pentacarna Tower!”
“Mr. Norton, he’s in possession of many magical items right now. If we team up and kill him, those magical items will be ours,” Coby asserted.
Unexpectedly, Skylar sighed.
“Countless people wish to kill him and steal his magical items. Unfortunately, putting aside his incredible capabilities, Mr. Sanders from the Law Enforcement Department is on his side. Even Zion Zeigler from Warriors Alliance couldn’t do anything about him. If we make a move against him, Mr. Sanders will definitely be upset.”
Nonetheless, Coby tried to entice the man further.
“The Rowling family is far away in Marsingfill, Mr. Norton, so I’m not afraid of the so-called Law Enforcement Department. I don’t mind dealing with Jared personally, but I brought too few fighters this time. As long as you’re willing to lend me some men, I’ll split the magical items with you evenly after finishing him off!”
Skylar plunged into deep contemplation. After turning it over in his mind, he nodded in acquiescence. “Okay, I’ll lend you two Top Level Martial Arts Grandmaster. I hope you’ll keep your word.”
“Of course. How would I dare dupe you in Jadeborough? Well, unless I don’t want to return to Marsingfill anymore,” Coby replied with a chuckle.
“That’s true. No one dares to dupe me in Jadeborough!” Skylar crowed smugly.
Coby then left with the help he obtained. In his opinion, considering his own capabilities and the two Top Level Martial Arts Grandmasters, certain death awaited Jared.
Meanwhile, Theodore, who hadn’t seen Jared in almost a month, appeared to be over the moon when he laid eyes on the latter again at the Department of Justice in Jadeborough.
“Mr. Chance, I heard that you killed Quintus Zabel of Malison Sect! How gratifying! He was all arrogant as he clamored in Jadeborough’s martial arts forum! Now that you’ve sent him to meet his maker, I noticed that many sects in Jadeborough have started behaving!” he exclaimed.
Jared merely flashed him a faint smile. “Everyone wants to eliminate Demonic Cultivators. It’s all thanks to Captain Jennings that I managed to kill him.”
