Pacing the waiting room for hours was driving me insane. Not knowing if my mate and baby are alright makes me feel useless.
“Greyson, come and sit down,” says Alison
“Pacing the room and getting more upset is not helping anything,”
“I can not sit until I know if Beauty and the baby are alright,” I say
“Alpha Brooks,?” I look up and see the Doctor standing there. I rush over to him,
“Payton,?”
“She is fine, Alpha,” he says
“The pain and heart rate was a cause of the adrenaline wearing off.”
“And the baby,?” I ask
“The baby is fine; it is not in any danger,” he says
“The Luna is resting now; you may see her, but I would like to keep her overnight,”
I rush past the doctor, down the hall, and burst into Payton’s room to her side
“Calm down, Beast,” Payton says
“Both the baby and I are fine,”
“Don’t you ever anything like that again,” I tell her
Everyone walks into the room, the kids rush over and hug their mother.
A few hours later, I can see Payton is tired and has Caleb and Alison take the kids home. I am staying with my beauty.
I sit in the chair beside her and watch her sleep all night. I need to figure out how them rogues got on to my territory to begin with. I am going to need to punish the guards for this.
By 9 am, the hospital room door opens, and Logan walks in.
“Logan, son, what are you doing here so early?” I ask
He kisses his mother on the forehead,
“I have not been to bed yet,” he says
“I have been up all night going over the camera’s footage. I saw where the rogues got in,”
“Oh son, you are only 13 years old; you should not have to worry about these things,” I tell him
“But I do,” he said
“This is the kind of stuff I do. Remember all I did to find Melody?” he says
The truth is, I remember well. This kid is a wiz.
“I remember,”
Logan takes a seat next to me on the other chair,
“I been working on a new system. I would like to run past you,” he says
“It is much better than the system you have now; it will benefit us greatly,”
I hear Payton move, then see her eyes open,
I lean over to Logan,
“We shall have a meeting in my office at 2 pm today, son, we will go over everything,”
I saw a big smile spread across his face. I have seen what the mind of this kid can do. I am looking forward to seeing what he has come up with.
With Logan’s system in place and everything running smoothly, I have been able to spend more time with Payton and the kids.
Any day now our new baby will join us and our lives will change again for the better. We decided not to find out the s*x of this baby. I was not around for the birth of the twins, so this is the first pregnancy I am a part of. I want to be surprised by the s*x.
“BEAST,” I hear Payton yell,
“HELP ME.” I take off down the hall towards our bedroom. The kids must have heard Payton yell because they were all entering her room as I got there.
“Payton?’
“What is happening?”
“My water broke,” she says
The kids cheer, but I froze for a moment, and then I scoop her up and head to the hospital. The kids were right behind me.
Three long hours later, I am bringing the kids in to meet the new bundle of joy.
“Congrats, Mom,” says Cole
“Can I hold the baby?”
“In a moment, Cole,” Payton says, then looks at Melody
“I think Melody should be the first one to hold the baby,”
Melody had a shocked look on her face; she could not understand why she had to be the first.
“Come here, sweet,” says Payton
Melody walks over, and Payton places the baby in Meloldys arms,
“I know growing up with two brothers being the only girl was not easy,” says Payton
“I know you have always wanted a little sister, so my dear, meet your sister Destany Rose Brooks.”
“Oh my God, it’s a girl,?” Melody says with a tear in her eye
“She is,” I say, placing my hand on her shoulder.
Melody slowly walks over to the couch with the baby and sits down.
“Hi, baby girl,” she says
“I am your big sister, and I am going to spoil you and teach you everything you need to know about being a girl in this family,”
The boys go and sit on each side of her to see the baby. Only Melody wasn’t ready to give her up yet.
In fact, since that day, it was hard to get Destany from Melody; she was always with her.
Three years later,
Today, Greyson had passed the Alpha title down to Cole, and I have passed the Luna title over to Coles mate Kimberly.
We are so very proud of the man Cole has become. Logan has stepped up his training as a warrior. he is hoping to follow in his father’s footsteps and be the head warrior, and even though he is only 16 now, he is head of security. Melody has also found her mate; he is the son of the gamma. His name is Shawn Jackson. We are all thrilled. her mate is a part of our pack, so she will remain with us.
We got word that both Fawn and Amy were killed by rogues walking home drunk one night. Even though we could not turn Fawn around, I still felt bad for her.
“So, my beauty, the kids are all set,” says the Beast
“What you say we get this little one to bed, then go to bed our self,?”
I say that is the best offer I have had all night: ” I smile.
Hand in hand, we head up and put Destany to bed, then turn in ourselves.
After all these years, all the up and downs the hatred, the losses, and more, The Beast finally has his beauty.
