The twins are 2 months old now and the love’s of my life. Every day, they bring me more and more joy, and I love them more and more each second. I have a hard time sharing them. People have to fight me for them.
Allison stayed with me; she did not want to go back to that pack, plus she did not want to miss my wedding. Caleb returned to the Dark Shadow Pack on the orders of the Beast, but he will be back to be the best man at our wedding. He plans on telling the Beast that he is not coming back; he is picking his mate’s happiness over him.
“Where are the babies?” Allison asks, entering the kitchen.
“They’re down for their nap, so I am making lunch while I am able to eat,” I say.
“ Haha, good idea, chicky.”
“ So, are you ready to have your baby Ally?” I asked her
“ Honestly, no!” she says.
“ What why? Ally?”
“ Well, watching you have the twins freaked me out, all that pain you were in, all that screaming, “ she says.
“ Yes, it was painful, but when they placed Cole on my chest, I forgot all about the pain till the pain started again, and Melody came out. But I am telling you, Ally, once you hold your baby for the first time, you forget all about the pain; it was so worth it.” I said
“I guess I will find out in 2 months, “ she says.
As we ate lunch, we went over more wedding details.

“Hey Greyson, can we talk?” I asked him.
“ What is it, Caleb? I have a meeting in 2 hours and I want to eat first.”
“ Oh well, we can always talk after your meeting, I guess.”
“ No, you are here now. What is it ?” he asks.
“ Well, you know Allison had stayed behind with her family.”
“Yes, I am aware of that,” he says.
“ Well, she will not be coming back to the Dark Shadow Pack.”
“Has she rejected you as her best friend did me?” he asks.
“ No, Grey, I am leaving this pack as well.”

“I am sorry, Greyson, I am, but I want my mate, and I want her to be happy,” I said.
” And frankly, she hates your guts and is not happy here at all. So, I am going to be the second beta to Jaxson Black when he takes over.”
“I always said mates make you weak, and I was right. Look at you, Caleb, your WEAK. following a piece of tail and betraying your best friend and Pack.” he says.
“I am not betraying you, Alpha. I am doing what all females are forced to do when they find their mate. Call me what you will, Greyson, hate me all you want to, but I am going to my mate, and we are going to raise our pup together.” I said.

“Have a nice lonely life, Greyson, because you will never have a mate to make you happy or give you an heir. You blew that. You will never find Payton; you destroyed her and hurt her. She will never come back.”

I stormed out of the office, collected the rest of my and Allison’s belongings, and left the pack. Greyson is his own worst enemy; he will never be happy.

Today is my wedding day. I am a complete mess. I thought the man I would be getting married to would be my mate. Not the cousin of my mate that I fell in love with. I love Maverick, I do, but a piece of me is missing , but how can I ever be with a Beast? I hear the sweet babble of Cole coming from the bassinet beside me and smile. He looks just like his father, the black hair with the blue eyes. I picked him up and cradled him.
“Mommy loves you so much. Do you know that? Yes, I do, my sweet baby, Cole.”
“I promise you, Cole, you will grow up kind and loving. I will not let you ever turn into the Beast; your father is.”
Then, I remember what Caleb had told us about marking a non-mate and making them your chosen mate. Do I want to be marked by a wolf who was not my fated mate? Is Maverick the wolf I choose? I place a sleeping Cole back in his bassinet and look at myself in the mirror. Why, oh, why was I cursed with the Beast as my mate? Why did the moon goddess pick a Beast for beauty? Just then, my door opens and walks Ally, my mom, and a woman and a man I did not know.

“Shhh” I cut my mom off, pointing to the twins.
“ Oh, sorry dear, umm Payton, this is Cheryl and Curtis Mathews, Maverick’s parents,” she says.

“It is a pleasure to finally meet you both,” I said.
“ Oh my god, Curtis, she is beautiful!” Cheryl says.
“ She sure is, our son is a lucky man.”
“ Thank you “ I smiled at them.
Cheryl, the small blonde-haired green-eyed woman, walks up to me and places her hand on my shoulder.
“Payton Curtis, and I just want to tell you how sorry we are about what Greyson had done to you. “
“ Yes, we are normally the type of family who believes in the mate bond. But what he did was unreal. And we support your rejection of him.” said Curtis
“My sister Grayson’s mother and his father also do not blame you for rejecting him either. They have even stopped talking to him.”

I look over at the babies, and Melody is awake.
“ Yes, Grandpa, you may.”
He wasted no time getting to her and picking her up.
“ Look. grandma. Look how beautiful this princess is,” he said to his wife.
I could see a tear in Curtis’s eyes as he held Melody and talked to her. My heart warmed, watching them with the babies. they accepted me as their daughter and my kids as their grandkids and backed me up on the rejection. I am proud to have them as my in-laws.
“Well, now,” says Allison,
“I think it is time we got the bride and babies ready for the wedding.”
“ Oh, that is my cue to leave,” says Curtis. He kisses the babies one last time and then heads to the door.
“Are you staying to help us, right, Cheryl?” My mom asked.
“ Oh, may I?” she asks
I smiled at her,
“ Of course, you can, Mom,” I said.
“Enjoy ladies, I will leave you ladies to it,” said Curtis, and he left to find the guys.
My mom and Cheryl get along great. They act like they are best friends or something. It was funny. But I am glad they get along so well.
Maverick:
“Son, you have a beautiful girl there, you have done good, and my grandchildren, oh my, that Melody already has my finger wrapped around hers.” says my father.
All of us laugh at my dad.
“I am glad, Father. I love them all so much,” I said.
“When your mate rejected you 8 years ago, we never thought you would ever be happy again, son, or have children. Your mother and I are so proud and happy for you”
“ Thank you, father. I never thought it was going to happen to me. A part of me is glad Greyson never wanted her.”
The men and I all got ready. I was a little nervous but excited at the same time. I am about to marry the most beautiful woman in the world and raise 2 beautiful babies with her.

Allison’s maid of honor dress was a dark red velvet floor-length, off-the-shoulder sequence dress made to show off her baby bump. She looks so beautiful in it.
My wedding dress was white lace and sequence, strapless Mermaid dress. My black hair was up in a bun with a red sequence crown holding the vail on.
Maverick and Caleb are in a black tuxedo with dark red vests and ties with red flowers and a cummerbund.
The tables are all done in red and white along with the flowers. Allison, my mom, Ally’s mom, and the omegas did an amazing job.
Finally, it is time to get married. Here goes nothing.
Since my father is still the Alpha of the pack, he is marrying us, so my brother Jax is walking me down the aisle.

A few hours ago, I was not too sure; I had my doubts, but seeing Maverick’s face standing at the altar wipes them all away. I love this man.
Jaxson lifts my veil over my head, kisses my cheek, and gives my hand to Maverick.

Maverick took the gold diamond ring from Caleb and placed it onto my finger, then kissed it.
I took the gold wedding band from Allison and placed it on his finger. I love you, “I whispered to him.

My father cuts both our hands and, as he says, joins them together. I feel a strong bond with Maverick.

Everyone underdresses and shifts when everyone is ready, and together, we take off with everyone running with us.
An hour later, we were all back dressed and having the reception .
My parents are keeping the twins for the night, so around midnight, Maverick and I say our goodbyes. We thank everyone for coming, kissing our babies, and heading home. It was hard for me to leave the twins. Maverick had to pick me up and carry me off just to get away from the babies.
Maverick speeds up the mountain road home faster than he has ever gone.
